چکیده

Multiple access interference (MAI) limits the capacity of Direct sequence Code Division Multiple Access (DS-CDMA) systems. In CDMA systems MAI is considered as additive noise and matched filter bank is employed. Traditionally, multiuser detectors a code matched and a multiuser linear filter are used which increases the complexity of the system due to its nature of operation. Multiuser detection is an approach which uses both these filters for the optimization. However, the main drawback of the multiuser detection is one of the complexity so that suboptimal approaches are being sought. Much of the present research is aimed at finding an appropriate tradeoff between complexity and performance. These suboptimal techniques have linear and nonlinear algorithms. In this work, we introduce Successive Interference Cancellation (SIC) which is a nonlinear suboptimal method of MUD and is based upon successively subtracting off the strongest remaining signal. Further analysis is to be carried out and simulations to be done for better understanding of SIC.

Performance Improvement Technique for Multiple User Detection in DS-CDMA System using Groupwise Successive Interference Cancellation (GSIC)

Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) system is being most popular communication technique due to its robustness & spread spectrum techniques. The CDMA include the pseudo sequences (PN-sequences) which provide the secure communication over a wide band. But the Multiple Access Interference (MAI) limits the capacity of Direct Sequence Code Division Multiple Access (DS-CDMA) based systems. For DS-C...

Nonlinear Multiuser Receiver for Optimized Chaos-Based DS-CDMA Systems

Chaos based communications have drawn increasing attention over the past years. Chaotic signals are derived from non-linear dynamic systems. They are aperiodic, broadband and deterministic signals that appear random in the time domain. Because of these properties, chaotic signals have been proposed to generate spreading sequences for wide-band secure communication recently. Like conventional DS...

Performance of Parallel Interference Cancellation Technique in Multistage Multiuser Detection for DS-CDMA System

The 3 generation mobile communication system will base on Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) system, because CDMA system can provide more capacity than TDMA and FDMA systems. But signal will suffer from the interference called Multiple Access Interference (MAI).This problem can be reduced by using multi-user detection technique. This paper examines the Performance of Parallel Interference Can...

The Deployment and Performance of Indoor/Outdoor DS-CDMA Systems with Multiuser Detection

This thesis investigates the deployment and performance of indoor/outdoor DS-CDMA systems assuming both conventional receivers and multiuser detection receivers at the base stations. In the first part of this thesis, measured propagation data and a DS-CDMA system performance testbed (based on a Monte Carlo analysis) are used to quantify both the downlink and uplink outage probabilities for a va...

Performance Comparison of Non-linear Interference Cancellation Techniques for Multiuser Detection in Ds-cdma System

Direct sequence code division multiple access (DS-CDMA) is a most popular mobile communication technology. In DS-CDMA communication, signals of all users overlap in time and frequencies and cause multiple access interference (MAI). The conventional DS-CDMA detectors follow the single user matched filter detection technique, in which each user is detected individually without regard for other us...
